Kill The Noise and Flux Pavilion are two of the hardest-hitting producers in electronic music. As such, you’d expect their new joint collaboration, a remix of Flux’ Freeway, to be a gritty, nasty, monster of a tune. Instead, the bass duo have opted for a much more melodic and uplifting experience.
Although their Freeway remix still carries an “oomph,” its euphoric atmosphere sounds like something from Flume and Ryan Hemsworth, rather than Doctor P and Skrillex. Featuring a gleeful amalgamation of half-step drums, soothing vocals, and pulsing synths, this slow-burning groove has us grabbing for our loved ones instead of our rave towels.
Freeway – The Remixes, set to release this October, will feature, in Flux’ own words, “10 remixes from my favorite guys in the scene.” We can’t wait.
