Philly-based label Mad Decent drops Jeffree’s Volume 7 this month, a compilation album boasting all of the latest releases from their ever-expanding sub-label, Jeffree’s. The entire collection boasts over forty singles and EPs, and lays claim to some of the scene’s most influential tracks, such as Diplo’s Express Yourself, Zebra Katz’s Ima Read, and most recently, the Harlem Shake by none other than Baauer.
Volume 7 starts off with two tracks from The Reef’s Tomb EP, a 12″ which combines the best elements of contemporary electronic music; take a listen to Ignant to experience it for yourself. The rest of the album continues to sample more of the finest tracks from the sub-label, all of which debuted on Jeffree’s within the past few months. Check out Sweet Like Chocolate by Lady Bee, a frantic, dance-hall beat with energetic vocals to suit. This came only a week before they dropped DJ Snake’s Bird Machine, a track which incorporates wildlife sounds with merciless basslines.
Take a peak at the Jeffree’s page for a full list of releases – it’s the perfect place to find the dance music of tomorrow. Make sure to stay tuned in to Mad Decent and Jeffree’s – they’ve got plenty of free music for you to download if you know where to look, but it doesn’t stay there forever. The official Jeffree’s Volumes, however, are available to all via Beatport.
