Zedd broke into the electro house scene early in 2010 with his win in Armand Van Helden’s remix contest for Witch Doktor, and not two years later the youngster has built a helluva resume. With a tour next to Skrillex under his belt as well as releases across monster labels like Mau5trap, Big Beat, and OWSLA, I can’t say I’m too surprised to see that this kid’s original tracks are getting the attention from a big chunk of the EDM world.
Zedd’s last single Shave It was recently boosted by a slew of top notch remixes from across the EDM spectrum. The Kaskade remix gives the track an even fresher electro spin. His take on the “Shave It Up!” sample right before the drop is brilliant, sweetening up an already delicious bass-infused dancefloor killer. The 501 remix is brilliant in its own right; it almost feels like an original, with some acoustic guitar added to an incredible chillstep track. Finally is a remix fresh from the likes of Tommy Trash, who’s been dominating 2011 with his signature energetic electro beats. This remix is no different, and the big room aspects utilized with Zedd’s melodies make this the perfect track to drop during the peak moment of a set.
