It’s been a good week so far for Mr. Ryan Raddon. Two days after the release of his eighth studio album, Atmosphere, Kaskade added a second “America’s Best DJ” trophy to his collection. Kaskade will be honored at the official “America’s Best DJ” Award Ceremony + Closing Party at Marquee Las Vegas on October 13th. When he heard the news, Kaskade had this to say:
“Words can’t do justice to how completely grateful I am to receive this honor for a second time. I am constantly in awe of the love, encouragement and energy I receive from my fan-base, which has continued to inspire and motivate me throughout my career.”
And what a career he’s had. Ten years after his first album, It’s You, It’s Me, Kaskade sits atop the EDM mountain, selling out the Staples Center and headlining festivals around the world. His newest offering Atmosphere has a little bit of everything–tracks like Last Chance and Feeling The Night for the mainstage fans, MIA To LAS and Take Your Mind Off for the more mellow listen, and even a track that features Raddon’s (surprisingly) impressive vocals. Dont’ sleep on LAX To JFK either; it’s a hot little tune.
Atmosphere is a crisp, emotional experience that takes the listener on a journey from melancholy to ecstasy. Half clean-cut rave and the other half out of the box, the album shows there is more to being a big name in EDM than just loud noises. Featured artists on the album include vocalist Haley (known for past Kaskade productions Dynasty and Llove), Russian group Swanky Tunes, and Kaskade’s side project Late Night Alumni.
