Jordan Suckley & Adam Ellis Go Head To Head On Subculture
Adam Ellis - Mandarine (Original Mix) [Subculture]
Jordan Suckley - Take No Prisoners (Original Mix) [Subculture]

John O’Callaghan’s Subculture label certainly isn’t messing around as we head into 2014. They’re kicking off the year with a double-header release, courtesy of two of the most exciting up-and-comers in trance–Adam Ellis and Jordan Suckley (pictured).

Mandarine is the work of Adam Ellis and sets the tone quite nicely. Hard trance from the off, it’s full of the pure energy that has always made the genre stand out. The break introduces a dark and brooding lead melody which builds and drops into a track that is bordering on psytrance. If Mandarine doesn’t have enough psy elements in it, then Suckley’s Take No Prisoners is probably more your cup of tea. The track shares the hard trance feel, but the lead line is a little more upliftin–—reminiscent of late-’90s trance–but the acid lines are out in force, giving Take No Prisoners a slightly more menacing effect, perfect for dark nightclubs full of smoke and strobes.
