With news about their upcoming Wild Life festival just starting to simmer, UK duo Disclosure (pictured, right) is back in the spotlight after recently announcing the launch of their new record label Method White. The new imprint will be an extension of their mighty Method Records label, and offer more underground-flavored releases in both digital and vinyl formats–great news for the electronic music purists out there. This announcement coincides with the label’s first preview–a deep house number called Wolfsbane from burgeoning Swedish producer Jonas Rathsman (pictured, left).
Already championed by Pete Tong, Wolfsbane is a bit darker than typical deep house fare, offering jagged timbres beneath a techno veneer. It takes almost a full three minutes for the tune to completely reveal itself, ultimately delivering a plucked motif alongside an ethereal pad. Whether falling victim to its pumping rhythm or its sinister sound design, Wolfsbane is no doubt as deadly as its flower namesake.
Currently, Wolfsbane is the only peek fans have into Disclosure’s new imprint, but be sure to check back here for emerging details.
