Jauz is the biggest buzzword for all of 2015’s trendy genres. You name it: trap, bass house, future bass, and even dubstep–and Jauz has been there, done that, dominated it. His Ephwurd collab Rock The Party is one of those tunes you heard a million times at festivals this summer–but you didn’t really mind. But maybe it wasn’t trappy enough for you? Did the second drop’s BPM not keep up with your manic footwork? Fret not, Jauz (pictured) and B-Sides are here to save the day, and it’s perfect.
Everyone who heard this live edit has urgently demanded the official download, including myself, so you can imagine my excitement as I danced around to a version of this that was more than 15 seconds long (think tremendously excitable spring lamb, and you’re halfway there). For the first drop, the edit takes the hard-hitting house percussion from the monstrous bass riff and replaces it with a down low ‘n’ dirty trap beat. When we arrive at the second drop, the pair are going a thousand miles an hour. This was the moment I decided that this version of Rock The Party is my favourite Jauz production to date.
