Two weeks ago, Swedish duo Wayne & Woods made their debut on CR2 Records with Favela. In a similar vein to the productions of fellow Stockholm musicians Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, the track was clean, crisp, and absolute quality. That said, it was begging for a big-time edit or remix. Enter fellow Swede, 17-year-old Jakob Liedholm.
On first glance, the dude looks like Avicii’s brother. One listen, however, and it’s quite apparent that he’s no phoney–he’s definitely got “it.” While the original Wayne & Woods production was certainly a hit, Liedholm does it one better with the inclusion of crowd-pleasing vocals and a brand-new, hands-in-the-air build. He adds just enough flair to reinvent the song for the festival masses, so don’t be surprised if your hear this in a few ex-Mafioso sets in the near future. In his own words, “I don’t always do ‘hard’ house music, but when I do, it’s pretty hard.”
