While TomorrowWorld will host sets from both Diplo and Skrillex, the two superstars’ hot-item superduo, Jack U, isn’t on the bill–officially. However, TomorrowWorld has made a few casually quiet changes to the Saturday lineup that suggest otherwise.
TomorrowWorld bumped up Diplo’s midnight closing set at his Mad Decent Stage to 10:30 p.m. without announcing the switch, suggesting that Diplo, freed up by the new closer Cashmere Cat, is setting up a surprise Jack Ü appearance.
While this excites fans of the Norwegian producer, this likely means good things for Jack U fans as well. Skrillex will still go on at 11:30 p.m. and play til 1 a.m. on the Mainstage, giving Diplo nearly an hour after finishing his own set to enjoy–or join in. He’s got no shows scheduled, at least not publicly, until Oct. 4 in Austin, TX, so there’s no apparent rush to leave before it’s over. Compare the hour-plus ride back to Atlanta from Chattahoochee Hills with the five-minute golf cart ride to Skrilly and a low-hanging opportunity to create the highlight of the night, and the inkling of a cameo becomes less of a shocker.
It’s safe to assume that we’re going to hear a good deal of Jack U at TomorrowWorld either way. Will we hear it from Jack U themselves? We’re willing to bet on it. Hear the duo’s first official single, Take Ü There, above.
