Seems like I’m all about grooving to some larger-than-life house anthems these days, so why not continue the trend? Italian newcomer and club owner Nicola Zucchi has not been in the production scene for too long, but there’s nothing like a good house smash (and some good use of social media) to catapult you to fame in this age, so I would expect the move from “newcomer” to “star” to happen at a pretty rapid pace for this fellow.
What is Nicola armed to attack the EDM world with? His new track Waiting, a big-room house killer that uses your standard house sounds in the drop, but with a bit of a techy spin a la recently posted When Love Calls by Nicky Romero, but with a slightly darker sound. There is so much energy in this song, driven by some pump-you-up lyrics. The only minor complaint I have is the vocal quality seems to fall a little flat (literally) at certain parts of the song, but then again I am extremely picky about vocals.
I’ve also included the Maurizio Gubellini and Matteo Sala remix, which is a completely different take on the track that starts out with an old-school dance melodic and rhythmic pattern and ends up in a quirky drop–it’s a sound people are seeming to love nowadays.
