Insomniac Adopts Trees, Gives Away Festival Tickets To Supporters

The feeling of being family at Insomniac events is palpable and sticks with you long after the lights go out–but what about our green, leafy brothers and sisters?

Insomniac’s got their backs (or trunks?) too during this most dry of periods in California history by donating $10,000 to ensure the survival and care of 500 trees in SoCal. In collaboration with environmental nonprofit Tree People, Insomniac has started a pledge fans can sign saying they will take steps to reduce their environmental footprint. Acts like using reusable bottles and carpooling make a big difference, but if entry-level greenery is more your speed, just try throwing your trash and recycling away in proper bins while at your next festival–mom’s not here to pick up after you.

Need something in it for you? When the pledge is over on Earth Day (April 22), Insomniac will pull 500 random names and donate a portion of the $10K on their behalf. Still not feeling it? Then we’ll sweeten the deal: East- and West-Coasters have a bonus reason for doing something positive this Earth Day, as Insomniac is giving away a pair of tickets to the Memorial Day Weekend event of one lucky winner’s choosing (EDC New York or Audio On The Bay in Richmond, Calif.) just for promising to make greener decisions.

Pledge here.
