We’ve all heard horror stories from DJs about unruly people demanding sorry requests, but this story takes things to an entirely new level.
The Hindustan Times reports that, on the night of June 22, 32-year-old Indian DJ Arun Kumar Valmiki was shot while performing at a birthday party after he refused to play a song request. The killer, known as Ashu, demanded that he play Tamanche Pe Disco from the Bollywood film Bullett Raja. When Valmiki refused, the youth used a country-made pistol and shot Valmiki in the chest. Valmiki was rushed to a hospital but doctors declared him dead on arrival. The DJ was performing at the house of a local businessman Ajay Gupta, who was celebrating his daughter’s birthday.
