Back in 2009, master of minimal/tech Boris Brejcha dropped his Schaltzentrale EP on us. Translated from German to English, “schaltzentrale” means “control center.” You might call the Schaltzentrale EP itself the “control center” for the latest Boris-centric release, Schaltzentrale (The Remixes).
Included on the release are four remixes that were chosen as winners for a remix contest Brejcha recently ran. They range from slight variations on the original to complete overhauls. The remix by Mazel Source is an example of one of these overhauls that creates a journey into a darker place in house music. Conversely, the Reblok Acid remix only subtly changes up the original, but creates a whole new minimal/tech masterpiece. Think 3AM beach party music, and you might have the right idea. This is some heavy minimal/tech, and it makes us here at LessThan3 very, very happy.
