London-based Ilan Bluestone was one of the biggest breakthrough trance producers of 2013, and he’s starting the year keen to continue the trend. Providing Anjunabeats’ first release of 2014, he’s come up with another banging piece of trance which perfectly fits the label’s current sound.
Spheres features a fat and dirty bassline, some dreamy plucks, and some lush pads, exactly what you’d expect from this exquisite-but-popular blend of big room and uplifting. But there’s something about it that’s more than that, something difficult to put your finger on–essentially, there’s something quite “Anjuna” about it. Whether it’s the precisely engineered synth sounds or the methodically arranged percussion, there’s something about a simple-yet-solid melody combined with similarly crafted production that makes Ilan Bluestone ideal for the label, and the label ideal for Ilan.
Spheres is out now on Beatport and is another step toward Ilan Bluestone becoming one of the major names on the scene.
