IDMA Nominations Announced

The International Dance Music Awards are always one of the highlights of Miami’s Winter Music Conference, and now it’s your chance to vote in a massive array of categories.

Although the polls have been open for less than a week, there’s already controversy and the biggest is, in fact, a mistake. The inclusion of young Dutch breakthrough Martin Garrix in the “Best Trance DJ” nominations raised eyebrows and tempers across the internet, but he’s since been moved to the “Best Breakthrough DJ” section, albeit alongside some very tough competition like DJ Snake and Dillon Francis.

Whatever your taste, the IDMAs certainly cover it; from pop right through to the underground, there’s plenty to choose from. With Rihanna and Justin Timberlake battling it out for “Best R&B Track” while Dusky and Tube & Berger going head to head in “Best Tech House” category, it’s clear that there are quite a variety of genres represented. It isn’t just about the tunes, either–you can even vote on a variety of production/DJ equipment and your favorite music industry executive.

Voting is open now on the WMC website, and winners will be announced live on the evening of March 27.
