Holland is a hotbed of musical talent, with some of the biggest names in every EDM subgenre coming from the European nation. Hailing from the capital city of Amsterdam, Lauhaus (pictured) and Kabale und Liebe are rapidly rising to the forefront of techno and tech house. By blending soul and minimalism, the pair have managed to channel the past and the present to appeal to a variety of music fans. Their latest release on Rejected showcases this talent of fusion with the resurrection of Eric B & Rakim’s infamous I Know You Got Soul.
The Dutch duo’s Hiphouse samples the vocals of the hip hop hit, layering them on top of an infectious bassline and minimal percussion. The original mix is a huge tech house anthem, so expect to see hands in the air when this one inevitably drops at a festival near you. Remix honors on this one go to Spanish techno legend Paco Osuna, whose dirty take on Hiphouse distorts the vocals and focuses attention to a vicious bassline. Constantly building, Paco’s remix is a surefire underground hit. Don’t be surprised when you hear both versions of this revival all summer!
