Glenn Morrison is the face of modern progressive house. For the past couple of years, nearly everything this guy has released has been both innovative and finely polished. His latest EP, Eternal Flame, is no different.
The title track of the EP is Morrison’s contemporary take on progressive house. The track opens with a calming, pulsating synth that persists throughout like a…well, an eternal flame. This proves to be an astoundingly effective tool to carry the song, as it provides both imagery and emotion.
The EP concludes with High On You, which employs a more traditional approach to the genre. This track is a bit more in-your-face than the former, but the melodic prowess that we’ve come to expect from Morrison is evidently present. If you’re a true fan of progressive, these are two tracks you absolutely don’t want to miss.
