Trance has become a melting pot over the past few years. While the genre purists continue to argue and debate, the different styles of trance–from psy to uplifting to big-room–have all started sharing the same floorspace. But when it comes to mixing prog and uplifting, who better than one of the guys who kicked it all off in the first place, Andy Moor.
His latest release I Be is everything you’d expect from the man who teamed up with Above & Beyond to bring you Air For Life. Indeed, both mixes have a feel of that seminal prog-trance anthem. From the ethereal vocal chops, of which Moor is the master of, to the driving beats and dirty bass, both mixes are a nice balance between dreamy and “chugging”–a word which was surely invented for this style of trance. The club mix features some electro house elements which should get a dancefloor moving nicely, but it maintains all the feeling and emotion of the original, with that vocal/lead line that almost feels alive.
Out now on Beatport, this is a track which has all the makings of a future classic.
