HBO Teams Up With Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger To Create ’70s Disco Drama ‘Vinyl’

A teaser video has been released by HBO for Vinyl, an upcoming drama creatively backed by the trio of Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Terence Winter that is set in the ’70s age of punk, rock and disco.

Based in New York, Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, and others will star in what is being described by HBO as a “ride through the sex and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco, and hip hop.” The show’s protagonist is a record label president named Richie Finestra (played by Bobby Cannavale), who is “trying to save his company and his soul without destroying everyone in his path.”

Terence Winter’s other HBO exploits include The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire.
