After a 13-year silence, Ferry Corsten resurrected the legendary Gouryella name in 2015 to release the anthemic Anahera on his own Flashover imprint to a fantastic critical reception. Now, he’s bringing the name back to the stage with plans to take Gouryella onto the live scene in 2016.
“Being a project so dear to my heart and one I know you guys are equally passionate about, I can honestly say, I was a little nervous about what the reaction would be after 13 years of no new music from me under the Gouryella name,” Ferry said. “However, the love and excitement you guys showed around Anahera was truly inspiring, and really cemented my decision to write a new chapter in the story of Gouryella.”
It’s been a while in the works, with Ferry dropping Gouryella’s eponymous debut single at major events in 2013 as he looked to “bring big melodies back to a scene I’ve spent my entire career championing.” He hasn’t provided any details about exactly when or where the live shows will take place, but there’s bound to be plenty of interest given the massive buzz around the revival of the Gouryella name.
