Following up on his stunning Fleet Foxes cover, LA’s resident sunshine ambassador Josh Legg (pictured), better known as Goldroom, releases his It’s Like You Never Went Away EP.
Legg calls upon rising Aussie talent George Maple to re-sing his hit Embrace, revealing on his Facebook that the two originally wrote the song together three years before its release. Though the original vocals sung by Ariela Jacobs fit perfectly alongside the floating synth work of the track, Maple’s slightly lower vocal register adds a sexy new facet to the piece.
From Chela to Mereki to Say Lou Lou, Legg has a flare for choosing perfect female vocalists to fit alongside his tropical instrumentation. Nikki Segal, the newest vocalist to join the Goldroom outfit, sees her premiere in California Rain, another easy progressing production brimming with relaxed guitar chords and island drums.
Debuting on SnapChat’s Discover feature this week alongside other original content, Tradewinds already promises to be the bridge between mainstream dance appeal and fan’s more disco tendencies with its deeper bassline and traditional house rhythm.
You can catch more new Goldroom content on SnapChat over the next few days, but be sure to grab your copy of his It’s Like You Never Went Away EP out via Downtown here.
