Italian producer Giuseppe Ottaviani has been setting the scene on fire over the past few years, with some uplifting trance and the occasional vocal smash. But it’s worth remembering that Giuseppe was once one half of Nu NRG, best known for their psy-influenced hard trance, and it seems he hasn’t forgotten that era.
Feel The Music is the latest single from his album Magenta and is a firm nod to his past endeavours. There’s a real hint of late 90s trance in the stabby saw lead during the build and when the 303-style acid lines kick in, it’s psy-trance nostalgia at its finest. But despite the influence, Feel The Music keeps things firmly up to date. There are some big-room style builds, a nice stomping rhythm section and those saw leads come in the shape of a hands-in-the-air melody that should prove a real crowd pleaser.
Out now, Feel The Music keeps the Magenta era running strong, and with an extended mix of Cold Flame out later in the month, it’s not over yet.
