Giorgio Moroder Announces New Album, Releases Video Of First Single

In a new deal with Sony/RCA, electronic music pioneer and disco legend Giorgio Moroder announced that he will release his first studio album in nearly 30 years.

The 74-year-old producer revealed that his first studio album in three decades will arrive sometime in spring 2015. After spending recent years collaborating with artists like Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers, Moroder is set to bring a long list of collaborators to his new album, including Charli XCX, Matthew Koma, and Foxes, to name a few.

Moroder has also released the first track and video from the upcoming album, the aptly named 74 Is The New 24. The track is fueled by a modern electro house arrangement with a foundation in Moroder’s traditional disco and funk background, and it’s sure to have every retirement home across the world raving.

Moroder had this to say about the track.

“Dance music doesn’t care where you live. It doesn’t care who your friends are. It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn’t care if your 74 or if you are 24 because…74 is the new 24!”
