It was just a short time ago that electro Dutchman Sidney Samson infected the dance world with his horn-touting escapade Riverside. Ever since the Dirty Dutch craze took over last year, Sidney has remained very shrewd about his work. He’s diversified his production style with great success, from uplifting vocal track Fill U Up to gritty electro Aoki collab Wake Up Call.
Samson continues his genre-hopping across the dance world, recently swapping remixes with trance legend Ferry Corsten. First, Samson housed up Ferry’s Punk with a Baltimore beat and a bit o’ that Dutch electro bass done well. This time around, Samson’s got himself a new original, Blasted, and a remix is included in the release by none other than Ferry himself. An uplifting melodic sequence is followed by an assault of heavy electro beats that’ll hit you out of nowhere…beware! The Ferry remix manages to hold its own with the addition of a kickin’ tech beat. The melody doesn’t divert much from the original as there wasn’t much of a need for any major “trancification.” Let’s hope the Corsten-Samson saga continues with more great tracks!
