British producer Genix has been part of the trance scene for a long time–with a slew of releases, a massive reputation as a DJ, and as one of the guys behind legendary UK club Passion. Lately he’s been garnering attention as an Anjunabeats regular, with two tracks featured on the label’s Volume 10 compilation.
His latest release is a double-header which consists of Stateside and United. Stateside is another prime example of the “Anjunabeats” sound–big room trance with uplifting and melodic moments. The track flirts between the two, with gritty and groovy builds punctuated with atmospheric breaks complete with lush synth sounds and swelling pads. United offers a more up-tempo affair–it’s a track which starts off as a moody progressive trancer, before introducing an uplifting riff and some crazy electro sounds. After another atmospheric break, the track drops into a crazy but well-executed mix of big room, uplifting trance, progressive and electro house.
Stateside/United is out now and is again testament to a producer who uses his immense knowledge of EDM to produce music that draws from a wide range of influences. This alone makes Genix a valuable asset to EDM and marks him out as someone who can rise to the top of the scene without compromising his style.
