Uniting fans from all across SoCal for an intimate experience, Gareth Emery gave the crowd at The Music Box something to remember this past Saturday. Presenting an array of new tracks from his new remix album Northern Lights Re-Lit on his Garuda label, Gareth delivered the kind of epic show he’s known for. The crowd was in touch with the music and you could really tell they were listening to his podcast on the way to the show.
Opening up for the UK star came Chicago’s Blake Jarrell with a set armed with his most discerning progressive house. The highlight of the night, however, was when Gareth Emery re-invigorated the crowd with his choice of club smashing electro house including the Tocadisco remix of Turbulence. Working his way into his set, he came full swing into four hours of rip-roaring trance. Reconfirming perhaps the hottest track of the year so far, Gareth dropped Sun & Moon by Above & Beyond, which got the whole crowd singing along.
Really a genre primed for live vocal performances, Gareth brought with him the gorgeous Lucy Saunders to sing Fight The Sunrise as well as Gareth’s mega-hit Sanctuary. Also joining him was Mark Frisch providing the vocals for the beautiful tune Into The Light and Gareth’s sister Roxanne for the track Too Dark Tonight. Overall it was a must-see show for the alive and growing Los Angeles trance scene. If you’d like to catch him on his current tour, check out his upcoming tour dates.
