The colossal sounds that emanate from producers like Rustie and Hudson Mohawke have met their match in rising Dutch producer GANZ, whose PVRPLE CWTCH EP injects a heaping dose of soul into the maximal hip hop scene. The three-track release, out on Plastician’s Terrorhythm label, feels like a surge of energy; alive with electro-charged sparks and overpowering synth sounds.
The EP’s name, according to GANZ, came from an overpowering purple vibe he picked up during the album’s production. It kicks off with Get Ones, where a turbulent, oversaturated bassline dances atop a sultry vocal hook. Next comes Pvrple Forest, a track bound to tear down stadiums with its crunchy guitar riffs and beautifully echoing vocals. Rounding out the release, It’s All Good adds in some ultra fun and choppy synth work into the mix, closing the album out in the same electrifying fashion it started with.
GANZ will be kicking off a UK tour in February. You can scoop up PVRPLE CWTCH here.
