It’s Friday! Turn off your PDAs and your PCs, avoid your CEOs, and forget about the ROI ASAP. The only acronyms you need are RSVP, BYOB, and IDGAFOS. It’s Friday Favorites 72.
House | Anna Lunoe – All Out (Panteros666 Remix) [Ultra]
Just when you thought you were getting the teensiest bit tired of All Out, Ultra goes and releases a stellar remix package that makes you fall in love all over again. My personal favorite, unsurprisingly, goes to Club Cheval member Panteros666, who injects just the right amount of “Show Me Love” house into the equation to get the entire dancefloor jumping. Pick up the whole remix package, which also features takes from Kastle and KDA, here.
Future Bass | ALEXA & Unkle Ricky – Luv Sick ($aturn Remix) [Free Download]
If it’s good enough for Skrillex, it’s good enough for me! The OWLSA boss recently included this banging luvtrap tune in his Skrillex Selects SoundCloud list, and it’s easy to see why. Everything, from the bodacious bass and the sexy snare rolls to the chopped vocals and uplifting synths, are on point. Did I mention that the remixer in question, $aturn, is only 15 years old? Grab your free download here.
Trance | Mark Sixma – Adagio For Strings (Original Mix) [Armind]
When Samuel Barber died in 1991, he could never have imagined that his most revered work–Adagio For Strings–would become a staple of the dance music scene that was exploding into life at the time. The piece has become something of an unlikely anthem, thanks to Ferry, Tiesto, and now
Mark Sixma. Mark takes things on a slightly tougher big room route, with a healthy hint of Skip Raiders’ Another Day in there–itself a version of the original. Get it here.
Indie/Beats | Arcade Fire – Afterlife (Sir Sly Cover)
Sir Sly is two weeks away from releasing the debut album You Haunt Me. Before the record drops, the California synth troupe decided to haunt their own fans with an eternal rendition of Arcade Fire’s Afterlife. Even more eerie than the original, Sir Sly’s electronic cover is an existential meltdown of supernatural synth and perennial beats. You can hear more from Sir Sly over on their SoundCloud page here, and pre-order their album over on iTunes here.
Indie/Beats | Glass Animals – Hazey [Wolf Tune]
If you have yet to hear about Glass Animals, it’s time to get acquainted because they’re blowing up faster than deep house in 2014. Hazey is the latest from their debut album ZABA, which boasts several more quality electronic-indie fusions, including Gooey and my personal favorite, Pools. Digging their style? Watch the beautiful Hazey music video here, and order ZABA via iTunes here.
House | Clean Bandit – Extraordinary (Klingande Remix)
Klingande might not be a household name just yet, but this talented duo from northern France is on to something with their sweet, sexy, sax-infused house music. There’s something to be said about a track oozing with posi-vibes, and that’s exactly what Klingande has done with the remix of Clean Bandit‘s Extraordinary. The house beat moves through the track at a danceable pace as the saxophone takes you away to warm, sunny, tropical place. As I savor these last days of warm weather, Kligande’s remix of Extraordinary is most definitely at the top of my playlist.

House | The Magician – Sunlight (Darius Remix)
Looking to go one deeper this Friday? Check out Darius‘ new remix of The Magician‘s Sunlight. The French house-head, who also makes up one-half of Cherokee, lays down a slick soundscape and throws the moody vibes into overdrive. Dreamy yet savory, Darius hits a high-note with Sunlight and leaves us hitting “repeat” once again.
