Since we can’t party with y’all every Friday, we do this instead. Now get down. It’s Friday Favorites 25.
House | Panteros666 – Baby F-16 (Original Mix) [Bromance]
Going just a teensy bit chiller than I normally do this week with the vogue-alicious Baby F-16 from Bromance Records newcomers Panteros666. Definitely can see some people sashaying and catwalking to this one on the dancefloor. I featured these guys on Friday Favorites before, but it was quite a different sound.
Electro House | Firebeatz – Funky Shit (Original Mix) [Spinnin]
I first had my ears assaulted with this party-starter by Kid Alien during his opening set last weekend at Mezzanine when he struck it against the side of the deck, waited for it to burn hot, and tossed it down the pants of the Pryda friends entourage. I think for a moment, they forgot why they came in the first place. Thanks Kid… and thank you, Firebeatz… you’re awesome.
Deep House | Agoria – Singing (Dixon Remix) [Innervisions]
Though the new kid on the block to some, Berlin native Steffen Berkhahn, aka Dixon, has been making waves since the ’90s with his authentic, fresh-forward style of house music. Recently he put that perfect Dixon touch Agoria’s Singing. With sounds like this plus Scalde’s beautiful voice, what more could you ask for in a track? Purchase the Dixon vocal and dub mixes here.
“We finally cracked we said progressive, why dont you chill the fuck out and let us rock deep for a hot second… Everyone is all deeper is better, deep this, deep v’s, deep space nine, deep throat, deep end of the pool, and we wanted to go deeper, at least just one time…. So we put our leather jackets on, bought some ray-bans, went to all-saints and spent 75 bucks on some badass shirts, and guess what we fucking did… We went deep and hit gold….”
Indie & Beats | Toro Y Moi – Harm In Change (Original Mix) [Carpark]
I was recently playing Grand Theft Auto V, as I am known to do, and was driving around doing one of the various tasks to complete a mission when Harm In Change by Toro y Moi came on the radio (the game has one of the best soundtracks of any game I’ve ever played). I was driving around the streets of the fictional city of Los Santos, which is an amazingly realistic representation of Los Angeles, and the soothing sounds of Toro y Moi really brought the city to life for me. It’s the perfect tune to cruise around to, whether it be in a video game or real life.
Garage | Toyboy & Robin – Everything You Want (Original Mix)
This is a lovely fusion of house and garage from up-and-coming duo Toyboy & Robin. Keep an eye on this UK duo–their musical talent won’t be denied.
Electro House | Quintino & Moti ft. Taylr Renee – Dynamite [Spinnin]
I was listening to Felix Cartal’s Weekend Workout 081 during a brutal gym session when I first heard Dynamite, and I’ve had it on repeat since. Quintino & MOTi have teamed up with Taylr Renee to create a refreshingly catchy tune filled with ludacris wobbles, screaming synths, and a tribal bassline that won’t go stale anytime soon. This addicting festival anthem is out on Beatport now, so go grab a copy.
Deep House | Dusky – Mr Man (Original Mix) [Anjunadeep]
Since appearing on Anjunadeep05, Dusky’s Mr Man is yet another example of the duo’s deep house mastery. There’s always something special about Anjunadeep tracks–house with a memorable “quirk.” This is certainly a great deep house record, groovy and chilled, one of the main reasons it became a summer anthem. But what makes it stand out, the “quirk” which will make this track live on long after the summer dies and the nights draw in, is that piano. Haunting, beautiful, but almost jarring, and somehow just perfect.
Trap | The Ninetys – Put It On Me (Original Mix) [Cream Collective]
One of the sexiest tracks on the latest self-titled EP by The Ninetys is Put It On Me. This R&B style slow jam really sets a relaxing mood. If you dig it, you’ll love the whole EP, which was released recently on Cream Collective. Download it for free on SoundCloud.
