With the release of Monster, drum n’ bass duo Camo & Krooked proved that the leap between drum beats and dub waves isn’t so far as long as you’ve got the chops. Now, back on their home turf genre, the Austrian partners in crime are showcasing the real origins of their production talent.
Teaming up with esteemed British drum n’ bass powerhouse Friction (pictured), they’ve unleashed Stand Up. It’s the result of one high-caliber collaboration–dubby basslines courtesy of the Austrians’ recent foray into dubstep meet the polish expected from a leader of the world’s capital of commercial drum n’ bass.
Friction is considered second only to Andy C among the British dnb legends. As a live performer, he’s well known for utilizing and blending the sounds of a three-deck setup, but Stand Up is the result of one of his latest studio incursions. Currently being dropped on unsuspecting dancefloors over the world by the likes of Chase & Status and Andy C, this fiery piece is slated for release on Shogun Audio in early October. I highly recommend you grab it.
