Hot Since 82 is celebrating his hugely successful year by giving us a fresh new mix to listen to as 2013 comes to a close. The Knee Deep In 2013 Mix is filled with over two hours of some of the best deep and tech house tunes 2013 had to offer. Though some of Daley Padley’s choices were released before 2013, every tune fits perfectly in the mix so you won’t find any complaints here.
Included in the end of the year mix is Dusky’s remix of CLOSE’s downtempo beat, My Way, and the aptly titled Forever Groove, a funky Tuccillo production. At about 45 minutes in or so, Hot Since 82 mixes in Mark Fanciulli’s, Game Plan, a track grounded in percussion, a deep bassline, and a crooning vocal that cues the drums and pushes the song forward. Cocoon Recordings’ All About by Santé and Frank Lorber provides a seamless transition into the tribal sounds of Strange Neighbors, a Marco Faraone and Arado song from 2010. The futuristic Noir Music release, The Trap, by Nikola Gala punctuates the mix at around the 105 minute mark and fades into Infinity, a Matthias Meyer original that sets the tone for the brief minimal respite in the set. Never one to disappoint, Padley includes his wildly successful remix of Green Velvet’s Bigger Than Prince, a track that still ignites dancefloors months after its release. Polishing off the impressive mix is Hot Since 82’s The End, a collaboration track with Joe T Vanelli that he has dubbed his favorite song off his debut album Little Black Book.
Though Hot Since 82’s track selection is flawless, it’s best to warn you now that trying to ID all the songs will be fruitless; Daley Padley has yet to include a tracklisting of his mix. Grab the free download here and simply enjoy the deep/tech journey!
