Worlds collide as Kieran Hebden, better known as Four Tet, is slated to release an official remix of Justin Timberlake’s Suit & Tie. The remix was leaked last week with degraded audio but was re-released on Hebden’s Soundcloud today. The producer was quoted by SPIN.com saying, “Yeah, it’s an official remix commissioned by the label and it just got approved, so I think it will be getting a proper release. It got leaked yesterday, which is how people suddenly know about it. The sound on the leak is distorted, too, which is making it even more annoying.”
The JT remix features chopped up vocal clips accompanied by some minimal house drums, a complete transformation from the original. (Update 3/12: All JT remixes were taken off SoundCloud early this morning. We’ll work on getting you the updated track as soon as it’s available…for now enjoy all this other Four Tet goodness)
Also up on Four Tet’s SoundCloud today is For These Times, which appeared last week on FaltyDL’s Fader Mix. Using slivered vocals and a subtle organ, the track swings with momentous force. For These Times can be heard on the new Think And Change compilation out on Boddika’s NonPlus label, which also features tracks from Pearson Sound, Joy Orbison, Martyn, and more.
Oh, and just for good measure, check out Metropolis, a seven minute psychedelic jam by Four Tet and RocketNumberNine, also recently uploaded.
