How many Dutchmen does it take to create a floor-stomping, big room banger? Probably only one, but fortunately the duos Chocolate Puma (pictured) and Firebeatz have united to give EDM fans a quadruple dose of romping Dutch madness. The two groups have just released their storming collaboration entitled Just One More Time Baby out on Spinnin’ Records, and it is already getting heavy rotation from the likes of Axwell, Hardwell, Diplo, and David Guetta, to name few.
From their modest beginning as bedroom producers, Chocolate Puma has spent the last fifteen years honing their electronic style. Their proper mix of live instrumentation and synthetics gives them a sonic signature all their own. In contrast, Firebeatz seems like they started in the limelight, almost immediately receiving recognition from top Dutch DJs as soon as they exploded on the scene back in 2008. It’s no wonder their new collaboration is tantalizing buffet of bass and beats.
Just One More Time Baby starts rather unassumingly, providing a basic snare-hat drum loop to showcase the tune’s tempo. When the song drops, a crushing wave of kicks and brass samples flood in like a tsunami, relentlessly drubbing a four-on-the-floor rhythm. The track eventually introduces an array of claps and congas, imparting an unconventional Latin flare. Just One More Time Baby has so much versatility, it could easily be dropped into a mix of house or moombahton grooves and smash the dancefloor just the same.
