House veteran Fedde le Grand has quietly had a fantastic year. With consistent chart-toppers across dance genres, Fedde continues to improve his craft years since breakthrough release Put Your Hands Up For Detroit. Over time, the Dutch DJ has evolved from his electro roots to incorporate funky techy beats along with Dirty South and Tocadisco. All three artists have found great success in this realm, especially Fedde le Grand, who has released a pair of tech bombs in the past couple of months.
His newest banger Metrum is currently reigning over the techno chart on Beatport, and with good reason. Like many of Michael Woods’‘releases, Fedde’s super fat kicks and highly refined production results in a powerful undulating techno bass line whose true potential will only be heard (and felt) by those who experience Metrum live. Fedde’s previous hit Control Room seems like its influenced by Woods’ style, combining tech beats and continuous buildups with a killer melody to go along with it all.
