Fedde le Grand’s anthemic collab with Dutch rock band DI-RECT received five new takes in the Where We Belong remix package, out now on Flamingo Recordings.
Zomboy’s contribution builds a towering wall of bass around the vocals, prodding at it on all sides with sharp stabs and wobbles. Fellow Dutchman Bakermat hands in a deep, prog-flavored version, while Jochim Miller molds the tune into a hands-up heaver with a big drop. Heavy-handed electro house remixes from Holl & Rush and Henry Fong add some measurable power to the collection with big, abrasive synth from both submissions.
On the whole, Flamingo did a great job curating five strong producers to reinvent the track into enjoyable new experiences without feeling the need for anything more out of place than the vocal dubstep cut from Zomboy, which still moderately fits in by making proper use of the stems.
