There is a sincere appreciation from the trance and progressive community for the consistently impresive work of London’s Eric Prydz. His claim to fame may have been his famous pop hit Call On Me, but ever since then he’s dedicated his talents to producing some of the most refined productions in EDM, including With Me, Shadows, and Pjanoo. Recently I’ve had the pleasure of absorbing his incredible three-disc album that showcases several years of his work under the alias Pryda. The effort that went into each of these tracks is extremely evident–one can sense that he’s quite proud to share this release.
The first of the three discs introduces a few new singles he’s come out with, namely Allein and SW4. The former is a catchy, feel-good tune, with a lead synth reminiscent of Ghosts N Stuff by Deadmau5. SW4 opens with blissful melodies before slamming down hard with a driving kickdrum an explosive bassline. The collaboration with Andreas Postl on Mighty Love is one of my favorites of the newer productions on offer; it’s sure to be a huge anthem for the clubs with its supremely thematic strings and euphoric overtones.
The rest of the compilation boasts many more of his best works, including Mirage, 2011 hit 2Night, and well-known classic Genesis. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just getting into Pryda’s style, this release is a real gem so grab the full deluxe version here on iTunes.
