It’s the big three-zero for Entranced as we bring you more of the week’s finest new trance music. In this edition, we have fresh tracks from the likes of Allen Watts, Ben Nicky, and even a bit of Jean-Michel Jarre.
Allen Watts & Dreamy – Integrity (Original Mix) [Monster Pure]
A track by Allen Watts released on Monster is always an exciting prospect, and for this one, he’s teamed up with Danish producer Dreamy (also known as Dawn) for an uplifting belter by the name of Integrity. Fast, frantic, and packed with rolling basslines and an utterly enormous lead riff, this one has been going down a storm with support from the likes of Simon Bostock through to Armin van Buuren. Ben Nicky – 680 (Original Mix) [Vandit]
Bristol-based producer Ben Nicky returns once again to Paul Van Dyk’s Vandit imprint for his latest work 680. Tough, uncompromising, and epitomised by the “get the fu*k out my face” sample, 680 starts off in proper hard trance territory. Yet as the track evolves, it becomes clear this is a good old bit of uplifting at heart. The main riff is one of those hooks that gets itself stuck in your head and could well launch 680 into “classic” territory in months to come, and support from the big names is certainly helping it along. Jean-Michel Jarre & Tangerine Dream – Zero Gravity (Above & Beyond Remix) [Anjunabeats]
This one has been floating around for a while now, but this week finally saw the full release of Above & Beyond’s remix of Zero Gravity, the work of synth pioneers and legends Jean-Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream. The original is set to feature on a forthcoming Jarre album, but Above & Beyond’s remix has been released on their own Anjunabeats imprint in all its glory. Full of complex synth work, buzzing arpeggios, and massive soundscapes, the trio have done their forefathers proud with this one. In among the old-school synth goodness, there’s also a taste of the Above & Beyond club treatment we know and love, making this remix ripe and ready for some mainstage festival play this summer. In the meantime, you can grab your copy here.
Johan Vilborg – Blossom (Original Mix) [Enhanced Progressive]
Swedish ace Johan Vilborg returns to Enhanced Progressive with another lush and chord-heavy piece of chilled-out prog trance in the shape of Blossom. As the name hints, this one has summer vibes running through its soul, and between the warming synth riffs and delicate little piano motifs, Blossom is bound to put a smile on your face and should get you moving on the dancefloor. You can grab your copy here, and check out some more of Johan’s picks of the moment with his Blossom chart, over on Beatport.
ReOrder – Saivan (Original Mix) [Tytanium]
Rounding things off this week is another top effort from Czech producer ReOrder, who continues his rapid rise to the top with Saivan, his debut release on Sean Tyas’ Tytanium imprint. An uncompromising piece of uplifting with a tough edge, Saivan is all about those huge supersaw riffs, though a subtle yet powerful bit of sidechaining after the drop is what really helps this one pump along, and should have you jumping up and down if you’re lucky enough to hear it played live. If not, it still sounds pretty immense on a pair of headphones, so grab your copy here.
