For the 26th edition of Entranced, we welcome Anjunabeats star and living trance legend, Ilan Bluestone. In the wake of his run of top-notch productions for the label, Ilan was invited to mix the Anjunabeats Worldwide 05 compilation, which was released on May 25. Now he presents five of his favorite tracks of the moment, including a few of his own recent gems.
Ilan Bluestone – 43 (Original Mix) [Anjunabeats]
The title is inspired from my set at Madison Square Garden back in October last year. Originally listed as an ID-ID, a lot of fans were asking what that track was at 43 mins and when it would be released, so the title 43 felt right. It always goes down well in a club–a beautiful breakdown with a full-on uplifting drop–the fans love it!
Above & Beyond – Hello (Jerome Isma-Ae Remix) [Anjunabeats]
Jerome is a good friend of mine. We’ve collaborated on a couple of tracks and toured together, and his progressive style is instantly recognisable. I first heard the original mix of Hello at ABGT050 at Alexandra Palace in London and fell in love with the epic breakdown, so when I heard Jerome putting his perfectly engineered grooves over the top it was straight away one for my sets.
WORLDWIDE 05 ONLY
Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Johnston – We’re All We Need (Ilan Bluestone Remix) [Anjunabeats]
I loved this song from Above & Beyond’s We Are All We Need album, so when I was asked if I wanted to remix it, I of course jumped at the chance. I love Zoë’s vocals which complement the style of my remix beautifully, and it’s amazing to see the fans singing along during my sets.
Ilan Bluestone – Cloudchaser (Original Mix) [Anjunabeats]
Inspired by my love for 80’s music I decided to make something a little more progressive for the start of my Anjunabeats Worldwide 05 mix–I even managed to fit a saxophone part into the breakdown! This one works perfectly at the start of my sets–I opened with a demo version for my set at Brixton’s 02 Academy, London–and is fast becoming a fan favourite.
Andrew Bayer – Do Androids Dream Part 2 (Original Mix) [Anjunabeats]
Andrew Bayer’s productions are always of such a high quality that it is impossible for me not to play at least one of his tracks in my sets. His entire Do Androids Dream EP is a masterpiece, and part 2 is my favourite. It’s so hypnotic that you lose yourself completely in the music!<br/
