It’s the big two zero for Entranced, and to celebrate, we’ve got you something a little extra as we take a journey through the week’s finest new trance music. Our special bumper Entranced 20 features double the usual dose of trance anthems, and includes new music from Armin’s Gaia alias, Las Salinas, Husman, and plenty more.
Akira Kayosa & Hugh Tolland – Untitled Ending (Original Mix) [Monster Pure]
First up this week, British producers Akira Kayosa and Hugh Tolland team up for a peak-time epic trancer in the shape of Untitled Ending. Full of bright, uplifting melodies teamed with tough rhythms and a classic rolling bassline, this one has seen support from Aly & Fila, Giuseppe Ottaviani, and Andy Moor to name but a few. It’s out now on Monster Pure, so show your support and pick up a copy now.
Bobina – Flying Kitten (Original Mix) [Magik Musik]
Taken from Bobina’s new album #Uplifting, Flying Kitten is the hard-hitting opening track. The name is tied in with the equally bizarre album artwork, but there’s nothing unusual about the track itself. As you’d expect from the Russian trance veteran, Flying Kitten is serious trance at its best. The whole album is rather special, as unusually for an artist album, many of the tracks are remixed. Featuring the work of Sean Tyas, RAM, and Photographer, it’s well worth getting your hands on, so grab yourself a copy now.
Claus Backslash – Ibiza (Need U) (Original Vedrá Mix) [Redux]
With Ibiza season almost upon us, this track from island resident Claus Backslash is the perfect way to get you in the mood. The Original Vedrá Mix is named for the mysterious rock that lies off the north coast of the White Isle. Ibiza isn’t quite sunset material, more late night in a club, but it features all the ingredients that should make it a hit over the summer–infectious melodies, enormous atmosphere, and a familiar vocal sample I can’t quite place. Grab your copy now, and get yourself in the Ibiza state of mind.
Craig Connelly & Dan Thompson – Welcome To Earth (Original Mix) [ASOT]
British producers Craig Connelly and Dan Thompson have gotten together to bring us some peak-time trance that should raise the hairs on your neck. Built around some utterly mind-blowing leads and huge production, Welcome To Earth is ASOT at it’s very finest. While we’re in the Ibiza mood, the location of Armin’s ASOT parties for the 2015 season hasn’t yet been announced, but we’re expecting news imminently. One thing is for sure, this one is bound to feature at whichever venue is chosen and is out now for your own listening pleasure.
Gaia – In Principio (Original Mix) [Armind]
While we’re on the subject of Armin, it seems the Dutch legend has been busy in the studio with Benno de Goeij under their ever popular Gaia alias. The duo’s latest tracks In Principio is more of the same floor-destroying trance that the Gaia name has become famous for. This one features a nice simple melody, but comes with buckets of energy that is bound to get crowds jumping. Experience the magic yourself by grabbing your own copy now.
Husman – XV (Original Mix) [Armada Captivating]
Rising star Husman has firmly planted his flag on the trance scene, and it’s all thanks to solid productions like his latest effort XV. A mix of big room rhythms, plenty of mental synth wizardry and even an orchestral break, XV is dark and dirty in parts, but should spread a smile across your face in others. It’s out now on Armada Captivating, so grab yourself a copy, and also check out Husman’s XV chart over on Beatport.
Las Salinas – Popeye (Original Mix) [Enhanced Progressive]
It’s tough to say exactly why Tel Aviv based duo Las Salinas decided to name this one Popeye, but it’s certainly worth a listen. Full of the smooth chords, gentle melodies and lush production the Israeli pair are known for, this one has received plenty of support from the heavyweights, including Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, and Cosmic Gate. Grab your own copy now from Beatport, can of spinach not included…
Mitka & Niko Zografos – Phoria (Ferry Tayle Remix) [FSOE]
A collaboration between San Francisco-based producer Mitka and Niko Zografos, with a remix from Ferry Tayle. What more could an uplifting fan ask for? Phoria features plenty of catchy little plucks, throbbing bass, and a slightly chilled production style. It’s certainly got loads of the euphoria hinted at in the title, and is out now on Aly & Fila’s Future Sound Of Egypt imprint, so get your own copy now.
Paul Miller – Oasis (Original Mix) [Vandit]
German producer Paul Miller returns to Paul van Dyk’s Vandit label for a refreshing trancer in the shape of Oasis. Full to the brim with tough rhythms, techy synth lines, and dark, moody breaks, Oasis has a touch of psy-trance about it, and a mysterious edge that suits it to dark and loud underground dancefloors. It’ll probably sound just as cool in your headphones though, so grab a copy now and turn it up loud!
Stephen Kirkwood – Artilect (Original Mix) [Lange]
Rounding things off for this special edition of Entranced is a bit of tech trance with a welcome dose of uplifting thrown in for good measure. Artilect is the latest work from Scottish producer Stephen Kirkwood, and while the build and drops are all about tough rhythms, rough basslines and Apollo 11 vocal sample, the beautiful break features plenty of lush synths, emotional melodies, and even the odd piano. Artilect is out now on Lange Recordings, and you can also check out Stephen’s top picks via his Artilect chart.
