Friday is trance day here at LessThan3 as Entranced brings you more fresh new trance music from the genre’s finest. This week we’ve got some mental tribal beats, a potential future classic, and an unreleased vocal anthem.
Future Disciple – The Mayans Are Coming Back (Original Mix) [Perfecto Fluoro]
Even the official blurb cites Australian producer Future Disciple as a “borderline mentalist,” a description that is further backed up by this track’s title. As you might expect, it’s a psytrance-influenced affair packed with plenty of brutal synth sounds and crazy acid lines. No big drops here–this is all about getting into the zone and losing yourself. The Mayans Are Coming Back is out now on Perfecto Fluoro.
Gareth Emery feat. Roxanne Emery – Soldier (Luke Bond Remix) [Garuda]
Next up is a remix of Gareth and Roxanne Emery’s Soldier, courtesy of fast-rising British producer Luke Bond. Built around a feel-good drop and a big-room groove, the club-friendly remix ups the energy while still staying faithful to the original. With an IDMA nomination in the “Best Track” category for his recent release On Fire, you can expect to see plenty more from Luke in the coming months. His remix of Soldier is part of Emery’s Drive: Refueled album, available to pre-order now ahead of its March 3 release.
Protoculture – Pegasus (Original Mix) [Armada Captivating]
South African producer Protoculture takes us on a journey into the progressive end of uplifting trance next with his new track Pegasus. Featuring a slow, evolving build and plenty of spacious reverb, this is a brooding monster that packs plenty of punch without being too in-your-face. Pacing along at a steady 128 bpm, it’s a prime example of how uplifting trance can still be epic even when things are slowed down–it’s good to go for the main room, but diverse enough to fit into a wide variety of trance sets. Pegasus is out now on Armada Captivating.
Shogun – City Of Angels (UCast Remix) [Monster Force]
Every now and then a trance record comes along that sticks out from the crowd. It’s the one you have on standby, cued up on your iPod or linked in your favorites for those occasions when someone dares to suggest that trance is “dying.” This is one of those tracks. Angels was originally released by Californian producer Shogun five years ago, and it’s now been given a massive uplifting remix courtesy of Belarus-based talent UCast. Featuring an emotional melody, tons of energy, and banging rhythm, this is a track DJs will reserve for that special moment in their set. Angels is out now on Monster Pure, so grab your copy and play it loud.
Thomas Datt – Prana Flow (Original Mix) [Damaged]
Rounding things off this week is another track from Jordan Suckley’s Damaged label, only this time it isn’t from the man himself. Instead, we’ve got a new release from trance legend Thomas Datt. It’s an exquisitely produced piece of trance that manages to combine a wealth of different influences. A hard trance-tinged rhythm and psytrance-esque acid lines are offset by the beautiful atmospheres and swirling synths during the break. The term “pure trance” is bandied around quite a bit nowadays, but this fits the bill perfectly. Get your copy now, and lose yourself in a sure-fire future classic.
