Electric Zoo has been granted permits by the City of New York to return to Randall’s Island after a series of drug-related incidents and resulting cancellation of day three left the future of the festival in jeopardy.
More doubt surfaced with news that organizer Made Event still hadn’t been awarded the necessary permits, but an announcement today allows fans of the late-summer festie to breathe easier as they fork over money for pre-sale tickets.
The festival was cut short last year after two college students died of drug-related incidents. Made Event promises tighter security with undercover police officers and drug-sniffing dogs at each entrance in addition to water, electrolytes, and a shorter overall show time to help ensure such a tragedy does not recur.
This year’s EZoo goes down Aug. 29-31, and pre-sale registration is available now here.
