It has been confirmed that producer and vocalist Romanthony, real name Anthony Moore, died at his home in Austin, Texas earlier this month (May 7th). Moore was highly regarded in the house music scene before rising to fame as the vocalist on Daft Punk‘s hit single One More Time, which remained their biggest hit until recently. News of his death only reached the wider community today (May 19th) after his sister Mellony announced his passing via Facebook. Tweets and messages of condolence have steadily been pouring in from across the EDM community.
Starting out in New Jersey in the early 90s, Romanthony released two albums Romanworld and Instinctual, before rising to fame collaborating with Daft Punk on One More Time and Too Long, both featuring on the multi-million selling album Discovery. In more recent years, Romanthony worked with artists and producers such as Boys Noize, who Tweeted their condolences and mentioned that they were collaborating with Moore at the time of his death.
