When in need of a pounding bit of psy-trance, you can’t go wrong with Toronto-based producer Eddie Bitar. Returning to Vandit for his latest double-header, Eddie serves up just the right balance of uplifting and psy trance.
First up is Follow Me, with heavy hints of old-school hard trance, belting drums, and big frenetic supersaw riffs. There’s a nice chilled break, complete with plenty of atmosphere and some big saw riffs, but the acid lines are never far away. The drop is classic trance right from the turn of the millennium, while the big energy and solid production value brings it right up to date.
On the flipside is Liberty, upping the pace and the energy just a touch, but enough to make a difference. There’s still an uplifting trance feel going on, with a subtle break and a fluid build, but the drop is dark and dirty, just like good psy-trance should be, perfect for going mental to on a dancefloor.
The Follow Me/Liberty EP is out now as a Beatport Exclusive.
