EDC Creator Pasquale Rotella Faces 13 Years In Prison

Pasquale Rotella (pictured, left), creator of Electric Daisy Carnival and father to fiance Holly Madison’s (pictured, right) newborn daughter, appeared in court on Monday facing over thirteen years in prison for bribery, embezzlement, conspiracy, and conflict of interest.

As Radar Online reports, the Insomniac CEO appeared in a pretrial conference on Monday for a case filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney which alleges that the event promoter bribed city officials with $2.5 million in funds from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Coliseum was the location of EDC from 2007 until its move to Las Vegas in 2011.

The case against Rotella reconvenes on July 29, just two weeks before his August 15th marriage ceremony with Madison.

While Rotella is currently out on a $1.8 million bail, he’s confident he’ll be vindicated. His attorney, Gary Jay Kaufman, shares his sentiment:

“[The charges are] politically motivated and publicity driven. [Rotella] has always acted lawfully and appropriately with respect to all of his dealings with the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Any allegations of wrongdoing on the part of Mr. Rotella by the District Attorney’s office are completely baseless and flat-out wrong, both on the law and on the facts.”

Holly remains confident as well. She recently told People Magazine that she plans to have “huge family, like a Kardashian-sized family” with Rotella.
