Just in time for the holidays, Eats Everything returns with a tasty treat–an EP aptly titled Reworks that includes edits of two classic house anthems.
Eats fans will recognize both tracks, as they’ve already become favorites in his sets. They show his aptitude for keeping that nostalgic house sound relevant in today’s scene by injecting both with the modern flare found in his own originals.
The first is an understated rework of Paperclip People’s Parking Garage Politics that keeps with the original’s intended direction but adds in some chunky reverb midway to give the track an echoed touch.
Next is his edit of Moonchild’s seminal ’90s hit Variations on a Theme, in which he takes the classic house phrase “work your body” and chops it up to align nicely with his updated take on the original rhythm. To keep the retro dance floor swagger in place, he leaves the original piano chords as a focus.
The two-track EP is set for release later this month via Pets Recordings.
