Dusky’s Ordinary World EP has proven to be quite the smash for the London duo since it dropped at the end of July, and while it still rides high in the Beatport charts, Alfie and Nick have unveiled their super-cool and rather clever video for lead single Skin Deep.
If you’re a fan of Dusky, or indeed house music in general, you’re probably already familiar with the funky, old-school house flavor of the track itself. The video aims to take that aural experience and turn it into something visual. Rather than falling back on tired clichés and even traditional cinematography, director of photography Colin Elves ditches the actors, landscapes, and even the usual lenses. Made up entirely of macro shots, the video’s mind-blowing array of textures and colors evolve with the song itself, making this something rather unusual in dance music–a video that is worth praising on its own merits.
