London-based house masters Dusky have announced their forthcoming EP Ordinary World, set to be released on their own 17 Steps imprint at the end of July. To celebrate, Nick and Alfie have revealed one of the tracks in full, with Jilted now available to stream in all its glory via their SoundCloud page.
As ever, Dusky embark on a sonic journey that straddles the ages, with the ’90s house vibes of their 2014 smash Yoohoo being replaced with some ’90s techno flavour for Jilted. Big, bold, and unrelenting from start to finish–and even featuring a few acid house hoover sounds for good measure–this track is yet another example of Dusky’s ability to take a genre, extract the best parts of its history, and give a modern coat of paint that adds everything while hiding nothing.
With three more belters sitting alongside Jilted including their recent set favourite and much-requested ID Squeezer, you can be sure that the Ordinary World EP is going to be a firm favourite for Dusky fans old and new when it drops on July 31.
