Duke Dumont has shared Ocean Drive from his upcoming Blasé Boys Club, Pt. 1 EP to break a four-month silence since releasing The Giver (Reprise), and a year-long break since his last original Won’t Look Back.
Stylistically, Ocean Drive takes a mellow shift from the UK producer’s typically full-bodied house productions to instead capitalize on a funky disco flare. The vocals are as catchy as ever, just like his classic hits I Got U and Need U (100%), ensuring that you will be singing along in no time.
The Duke explains that the Blasé Boys Club, Pt. 1 is the first of a series, saying in a press release, “I’ve been thinking of adapting the release format from a traditional album for a while. The Blasé Boys Club series will be my outlet for music which would have previously been considered songs for my albums. Rather than the old format of the LP, the new way allows me the freedom to bring music to people quicker, and more regularly.”
Blasé Boys Club, Pt. 1 drops Oct. 2 via Virgin EMI, and ahead of the release Duke Dumont is set to embark on a full tour with his live setup beginning in September. Pre-order the EP here, and check out his tour dates below.
