Dr Meaker Prescribes A Rinse-Out

As one of LessThan3’s nominees for Top Up-and-Comers of 2013, it was almost certain that Dr Meaker would be making another appearance on LessThan3 sometime this year. The group skyrocketed in notoriety in 2012 with two back-to-back anthems in Fighter and Music In the Night, and has subsequently become a fixture on BBC radio with support from Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, MistaJam, and former-BBC DJ Bailey, to name a few. Often performing as a live band, Dr Meaker has already notched sessions at both the BBC and Red Bull music studios, and is slated to appear at the sold-out Glastonbury festival next week.

After a brief, but highly successful detour into 140bpm territory with tunes like Shak Out among others, the Bristol troupe has returned to D&B with an upbeat new single called Don’t Think It’s Love, forthcoming on New State Music. Featuring the vocal talents of Romaine Smith, Don’t Think It’s Love is a fleeting mixture of bustling breaks, scintillating string falls, and gouging bass spates–all coalescing around Romaine’s soulful vocals. The single will be out on July 21st and is flanked by massive remixes from Mind Vortex, Bitrocka, Real Connoisseur, TS7, Typesun, and Jus Now. Pre-order Don’t Think It’s Love right here on iTunes.
