Disney Does EDM

It’s probably safe to say that anyone born in the last 70 years will have childhood memories of Disney films. From cinema showings of Dumbo in 1941, to Up on Blu Ray in 2011, the magic of Walt Disney is an almost ubiquitous part of childhood. But what on earth, you must all be asking, does this have to do with dance music? Well, Walt Disney Records have announced that they’ll be releasing an album of classic Disney songs–reworked by some of the biggest EDM producers on the planet.

Dconstructed will feature some of your Disney favorites reworked by the likes of Armin van Buuren, Avicii, BT, Mat Zo, Kaskade, and many others. So far there is just a short teaser video available, but various artists associated with the project have already started hyping up their involvement, with Mat Zo revealing he has provided a drum & bass version of Elton John’s Circle Of Life as featured in The Lion King.

While no further tracklist details are available as yet, the physical album is available to pre-order now via Amazon, though digital versions are bound to follow in time for the official release on April 22.
